NIGHT 34 — The Story of Life and The Life of Story
One more entry to go.

Today morning was pleasant.
I was able to witness my cousin sister’s engagement via Zoom and also see a lot of relatives I hadn’t seen in a while.
Very nice.
Do you ever have that friend who seeks to add value to your life with good intentions, who introduces you to things that make you want to kill them and then subsequently yourself?
As much I like to keep things anonymous, enter my friend Nikita.
(She writes poems and stuff, they are great, check them out etc.)
She introduced this game to a bunch of my friends based on the concept of quantum logic gates.
Ever met a game that intrigues you and makes you want to kill its creator because the game itself isn’t bad, but reminds you that you very probably have below average IQ?
QLOGIC does the job for you.
However, seriously speaking, the game is initially a bit confusing for those unfamiliar with the concept, but you kind of grasp it after you go through a bunch of levels unaware of what you are doing.
Once you do grasp it, the game is pretty fun to work out.
Only demerit I found is the fact that it has only 45 levels.

Now, let me tell you about Life and Story.

Or to be more specific, the magazine, LIFE and an american journalist, George Story.

Well, this is a less of an incident and more of a fun fact but interesting nonetheless.
For those of you are unaware, LIFE was a magazine published from 1883 to 1972, well longer actually, but those years were its golden age.

The magazine fell under TIME INC. and was known widely for the quality of its photography. It was an all-photographic American news magazine. It played a huge role in photojournalism.
For those of you who might have seen the film The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, LIFE was the publication that Walter Mitty worked at and the film was covering its eventual shutdown.
Why do I mention it, however?
Imagine if your life was intertwined with a famous worldwide publication?
From birth?
Enter George Story.
What you see above you is the inaugural issue, the very first one of LIFE magazine with the image of a newborn baby, George Story, celebrating his birth as well as the allusion to the beginning of the magazine.
Until 1972, the magazine was published weekly, then there was a six-year break.

Life was revived in 1978 and began to come out once in a month.

Then, the magazine held out for another 22 years.

As the years passed, LIFE magazine did not forget the boy that shared their journey and periodically posted photos of George throughout his life, as he went ahead and got married, had children and decided to eventually pursue a career as a journalist.
Then times changed, technology boomed and a photography magazine simply lost relevance and people simply stopped buying the issues that came out.

LIFE had to close down, the next step was simply a bare online presence.

TIME announced in March 2000 that LIFE was shutting down.
Strangely, one month later, in April, George Story passed away due to heart failure tying his lifeline to that of the magazine.
The last issue of LIFE, in May 2000, was titled “A Life Ends”, featuring his story and how it had intertwined with the magazine over the years.
This time, the photo wasn’t of a baby, but an elderly 64-year-old man.
Time just flashes by so quickly.
In the last ten years, we progressed so quickly from marvelling at smart phones to using them every day.
I didn’t mean to include LIFE this much, but after spending the whole day reading about it, it felt kinda sad cause time just flies by.
Good and bad, I guess.
Two days from today, I will be a second year.
Strange.
